Veteran broker Lindsay Barton Barrett, who has spent more than two decades in the residential real estate business, is returning to Compass from Douglas Elliman.
Barrett, whose career sales exceed $2 billion, will lead The Lindsay Barton Barrett Team at Compass’ Manhattan office.
Composed of Barrett, Kaitlin McGlynn, Taylor Schultz and Christopher Mohr, the team works primarily in Brooklyn townhouse, condo and co-op sales — with additional listings in downtown Manhattan.
The Lindsay Barton Barrett Team recorded 47 transaction sides and $162.17 million in sales volume in 2024, according to RealTrends Verified. The team ranked 70th nationally by volume and No. 8 by volume in New York City.
Barrett and her team have earned consistent RealTrends Rankings placement since 2012 while closing notable transactions — including the local market’s highest-priced townhouse sales. She currently holds the listing for a Cobble Hill townhouse at 205 Clinton Street, priced at $18.5 million.
“I am so excited about this move. I really do feel like I’m going home. During my years at Compass, I got to be a part of shaping the firm’s direction, and now I get to fully embrace everything it has become,” Barrett said. “My decision to move to Elliman was a difficult one. Now, I am thrilled to return and to work alongside the best in the business.
“I’m energized about the future and confident that Compass is the ideal platform as I grow my team and expand our footprint in 2026.”
Barrett — a former lawyer — built much of her business on client referrals. Her work has spanned both resale and development projects across Brooklyn and Manhattan.
“It’s incredibly exciting to welcome Lindsay back,” said Robert Reffkin, founder and CEO of Compass. “Her deep knowledge of the New York City market and proven expertise make her an exceptional partner, and I’m excited to support Lindsay and her team as they build on this next phase of their careers.”
